- Certifications:** Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Provider certification
- Must-Have:** Nursing Diploma, ADN, or ASN from an accredited school of Nursing
- Provides competent clinical nursing care consistent with professional standards.
- Accountable to the Nurse Manager/Director and responsible for coordinating and delivering patient care using the nursing process in a hospital setting.
- Participates in identifying and meeting learning needs of self and attends education programs based on those needs.
- Assesses the readiness to learn of the patient, family, and caregivers.
- Identifies expected patient outcomes and participates in revising the plan of care with guidance from the interdisciplinary team.
- Demonstrates competence in the care of patients with complex problems, considering physical, psychosocial, educational, and safety aspects.
- Organizes and prioritizes care according to patient/family needs and consults with appropriate resources regarding complex care issues.
- Develops goals to promote professional growth or minimize limitations with assistance.
- Participates in the development and achievement of unit goals and performance improvement activities.
- Recognizes data from complex situations to determine care priorities, and assess discharge needs of patients and families.
- Collaborates with patient/family to prepare or update the plan of care, addressing cultural and ethnic issues.
- Reads professional journals to stay informed about studies and articles relevant to practice.
- Schedule Notes:** One late shift per week.
