Experience:** Minimum 1 year in Advanced Medical/Surgical Unit and recent Critical Care or Progressive Care Nursing required
License:** Current State RN Licensure
Certifications:** BLS, ACLS, PALS (required or obtained within 6 months of hire); EPNC, TNCC (preferred)
Must-Have
Competence in operating advanced medical equipment
Ability to assess and implement established policies and procedures with minimal supervision
Ability to give direction to RN, LPN, CNA, Housekeeping Staff, and Dietary Staff
Advanced knowledge of Nursing Principles and Procedures
Job Description
Provide care to hemodynamically stable or predictably unstable patients on the medical/surgical unit
Offer physical, emotional, spiritual, and cultural support to patients
Manage multiple patient populations including pediatrics, pre and post PCI care, and various surgical services
Operate advanced medical equipment, including central lines, chest tubes, nasogastric tubes, continuous bladder irrigation, arterial lines, multiple IVs, and short-term ventilation support
Collaborate with other professional disciplines to ensure effective patient care delivery and achievement of desired patient outcomes
Maintain the standard of professional nursing while interacting with patients and significant others
Act as a clinical leader and assist with precepting staff
Provide direct care for patients from admission to discharge, including discharge planning
Receive direction from Providers, Charge Nurse, and Chief Nursing Officer
Utilize basic office equipment and advanced cardiac telemetry and EKG interpretation skills
Pediatric experience is preferred but not required
