Job Title : Sleep Technologist Job Specialty : Cardiopulmonary Job Duration : 13 months Shift : Full-time, 12-hour shifts Guaranteed Hours : Not specified Experience : Minimum of 2 years License : Registered as a Polysomnographic Technologist (RPSGT) by the Board of Registered Polysomnographic Technologists (BRPT) or equivalent Certifications : Basic Life Support (BLS) Must-Have : High School Diploma / GED Job Description : - Prepare for the arrival of patients by setting up equipment for the ordered sleep test. - Interview patients to identify any sleep issues and explain testing procedures. - Conduct ordered tests and perform any additional necessary testing. - Educate patients about test results, sleep disorders, community support groups, and available resources. - Prepare, calibrate, repair, and maintain required testing equipment; determine and report needed repairs and replacements. - Score, interpret, and report results of sleep studies. - Recognize, document, and report any unusual patient responses to treatment or testing. - Consistently follow all department policies and procedures. - Perform all other duties as assigned.
