Job Title : Sonographer Job Specialty : General Job Duration : Permanent Shift : 8 : 00 AM - 4 : 30 PM Guaranteed Hours : Not specified Experience : One year of experience preferred in the performance of ultrasound License : Current registration with a National Accredited Registry Certifications : ARDMS - Required Must-Have : Current registration with a national accrediting organization (ARDMS) strongly preferred Job Description : - Assist radiologists and other physicians in achieving scans and images for diagnosis of patients undergoing ultrasound exams. - Provide patient care activities for adult, pediatric, and neonatal patients. - Responsible for the proper utilization of the Radiology Information System as described in the RIS Policy and Procedures. - Participate in and implement age-specific care and interaction. - Work the established schedule and be available for rotating on-call duties. - Provide basic patient care and comfort. - Obtain, review, and correlate pertinent patient history, physical exam, and supporting clinical data to facilitate optimal diagnostic results. - Perform diagnostic procedures by producing, assessing, evaluating, and interpreting ultrasound images and related data used to render a medical diagnosis. - Perform clerical tasks to document and record all statistical information and record-keeping requirements. - Conduct quality assurance and infection control programs. - Maintain ultrasound labs. - Employ professional judgment and discretion. - Maintain competency in the profession.
