A Scientific Investigator position is available at Cynet Systems, requiring a highly skilled professional to conduct scientific investigations and collect blood samples from volunteers.
Responsibilities:
- Formulate and conduct comprehensive scientific research in areas of significant complexity, identifying and recommending innovative solutions, concepts, and principles.
- Collect blood specimens from volunteers while ensuring safety by adhering to OSHA regulations and maintaining confidentiality.
- Verify subject availability and suitability for clinical studies according to the Associate Sample Collection Program (ASCP) and study protocol requirements.
- Confirm subject identification and obtain informed consent.
- Perform venipunctures and fingerstick collections to obtain blood specimens.
- Maintain specimen integrity by employing aseptic techniques and following department Standard Operating Procedures (SOP).
- Track collected specimens, documenting collection times, dates, and initialing them for accountability.
- Adhere to study protocol procedures and testing schedules, recording pertinent information during processing.
- Conduct laboratory processing, including pre- and post-analytic phases of samples/specimens.
- Produce accurate and reliable data through diligent research and analysis.
- Stay current with industry developments and best practices.
- Document all activities, record results, and input/retrieve data as necessary.
- Maintain a clean, organized work environment, adhering to health and safety guidelines, and ensuring biohazard waste disposal.
- Receive, unpack, and store lab deliveries correctly.
- Monitor refrigerator/freezer temperatures and maintain accurate records.
- Provide administrative support as needed.
- Promote a safe, secure, and healthy work environment by following established standards and procedures.
- Engage in ongoing education and training to enhance job knowledge and performance.
- Actively contribute to departmental, divisional, and company objectives, protecting proprietary interests and maintaining confidentiality.
Requirements:
- Minimum 5-10 years of phlebotomy experience in a hospital or regulated clinical setting.
- Excellent reading, writing, and communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Outlook, Microsoft Teams, Word, and Excel.
- High School Diploma or equivalent required; accredited Phlebotomy Program preferred.
