Job Description : Responsibilities :

Originate and check structural steel deliverables of moderate complexity, including drawings and 3-D models structural design.
Review Structural steel deliverables of moderate complexity, including drawings and 3-D models for steel.
Interpret and verify industry standards, guidelines, and codes for project deliverables.
Report design quantities compared to estimated quantities.
Participate in project design / model reviews.
Participate in constructability reviews.
Review and coordinate technical documents with / from other engineering disciplines, procurement, and construction.

Education and Experience Requirements :

Requires bachelor's degree and 8-10 years of relevant experience or AA / AS degree with 10-12 years of related experience.

In lieu of a degree, 14-16 years of relevant work experience

Required Knowledge and Skills :

dvance experience in the use of Auto cad and Tekla and or similar software.

Work experience should emphasize structural steel design of heavy industrial type facilities.

Must be familiar with Microsoft Word and Excel.

Familiar with the provisions of ASTM, AISC, OSHA, and IBC codes.

Knowledge of construction materials and construction details and techniques.

Familiar with the methods of procurement and control of bulk materials.

Knowledge of technical responsibilities of other disciplines associated with Facilities Design.

Thorough knowledge of engineering deliverables, such as drawings and specifications.

bility to express technical issues in a clear and concise manner, both written and verbally.

bility to resolve design issues with subordinates, other engineering disciplines, construction, and the client.

bility to issue clear and concise direction to subordinate designers and drafters.

Experience in the structural steel design for Nuclear Quality and Safety Environment.

in civil engineering or engineering technology.

Six Sigma Yellow Belt or higher or working knowledge of other process improvement programs.
