Job Summary
Cynthia M Brizard, CPA is currently seeking a part-time entry level tax accountant for the 2025 tax season (Feb 24 – Apr 30). Hours are flexible. If you are interested in pursuing your CPA credential or becoming a tax preparer, this opportunity will provide you with hands on experience in the areas of tax planning, tax preparation, tax strategies, and international assets reporting for individuals and businesses under the guidance of a licensed CPA. This is a paid position ranging from $20-$30/hour depending on education and experience. Office is located in Rancho Bernardo, CA.
Responsibilities and Duties
- Inputting and reconciling a variety of tax documents in the Drake Tax software system.
- Preparing Federal and State individual and business tax returns utilizing Drake tax software
- Preparing quarterly tax estimates
- Preparing tax work papers
- Reconciliation of investment dispositions
- Collecting and organizing client tax documents through a variety of submission channels
- Completing and reconciling client tax organizers
- Assembling of tax return packets and scanning of various documents
- Operating various office equipment
- Special projects as needed
Qualifications and Skills
- Bachelor’s degree required with course of study in tax preparation or accounting; or related business experience
- Consistent punctuality and dependability

- Attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to work independently
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize workload to meet deadlines

- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook, Adobe Acrobat
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States and agree to background check

Pay: $20.00 - $30.00 per hour
