Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled Estimating Manager to lead our estimating team in the construction industry. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in construction estimating and management, with a focus on cost control and project management. This role requires excellent negotiation skills and the ability to effectively communicate with various stakeholders, including contractors and clients. The Estimating Manager will be responsible for overseeing the preparation of accurate estimates for construction projects, ensuring that all pricing aligns with project specifications and budgetary constraints.
Responsibilities
- Assist the estimating team to ensure timely and accurate project estimates.
- Develop comprehensive cost estimates for construction projects, including labor, materials, and overhead.
- Utilize On Screen, Carlson, and other software tools to create detailed take-offs and pricing.
- Collaborate with project managers to understand project requirements and constraints.
- Negotiate contracts with subcontractors and suppliers to secure competitive pricing.
- Monitor project budgets and implement cost control measures throughout the project lifecycle.
- Conduct regular reviews of estimates to identify areas for improvement and efficiency.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry trends, materials, and pricing strategies.
- Ensure compliance with all contractual obligations related to estimating processes.
Experience
- Proven experience in construction estimating or management is required.
- Strong understanding of cost control principles within the construction industry.
- Familiarity with construction site operations and project management methodologies.
- Proficient in using estimating software, particularly On Screen.
- Excellent negotiation skills with a track record of successful contract negotiations.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment while also demonstrating leadership capabilities.
- Strong analytical skills with attention to detail in pricing and contract analysis.
