Cypress Cove Nudist Resort is currently seeking an experienced General Maintenance Technicians to join our team. Our maintenance staff is responsible for maintaining equipment, systems and building components, including, but not limited to, mechanical and electrical systems, plumbing, locks, furniture, paint, wall coverings, tile and other equipment. The maintenance team is also responsible for a memorable first impression of the grounds and will have some experience in maintaining native Floridian landscapes. Candidates must apply for one of three roles most closely mirroring their level of competency and experience:
General Maintenance Technician I: Performs basic services and repairs in the areas of plumbing, carpentry, painting, electrical, interior finishes, and appliance servicing. Is knowledgeable in the procedures and safety measures associated with industry and company standards. Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within the maintenance field. Relies on limited experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Must be able to identify basic maintenance defects for repair. This position will also perform as part of a team and will carry out tasks as assigned by leader.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND TASKS:
- Works in a team environment in a primarily response role to complete inspections, repairs, preparation of guest units and at times, grounds upkeep. Assist guests and staff in the resolution of unit and facility maintenance concerns, complaints, and questions.
- Assist maintenance and housekeeping teams in the preparation of the property for guests.
- Perform general maintenance duties as assigned by the manager or supervisor.
- Maintain accurate records of units serviced and work performed.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
- High school diploma or GED and/or equivalent work experience or vocational training
- Maintenance with a resort and/or hotel preferred
QUALIFICATIONS:
- A combination six months facility and/or building/construction maintenance experience and/or vocational training
- Bilingual a plus
- Must have ability to perform skilled work in general maintenance.
- Ability to learn skills in painting, tile, plumbing, carpentry and electrical
- Must be able to problem-solve and participate in troubleshooting major appliances.
- Must have knowledge of hand and power tools and a mechanical aptitude.
- Must be able to provide excellent face to face guest communication.
- Must be able to follow written instruction and complete documentation associated with unit maintenance.
- Must be at least 18 years of age with a current valid driver’s license, minimum of 1 year of driving experience and meet company motor vehicle report requirements.
General Maintenance Technician II: Performs maintenance service and repairs in the areas of plumbing, drywall, texture, tile, carpentry, painting, electrical, cabinetry, laminates, granite and appliance servicing at a skilled level. This position is knowledgeable in the procedures and safety measures associated with industry and company standards. Role requires at least two years of experience in the fields or in related areas. This technician is familiar with a variety of these fields’ concepts, practices, and procedures. Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of complicated tasks and a wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected. Work in a team environment to do repairs, and preparation of guest villas. Handle in-house repairs in areas that might include ceramic tiles, painting, repair and replacement of wallboard systems, carpentry, cabinetry, laminates and other related fields.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND TASKS:
- Handle in-house repairs regarding the removal and replacement of ceramic tiles, painting, repair of or replacement of wallboard systems, carpentry, cabinetry, laminate replacement, and granite repairs.
- Assists guests and staff in the resolution of unit maintenance concerns, complaints, and questions.
- Utilize specific hand and power tools required to accomplish all phases of projects from rough-in carpentry to trim cabinetry.
- Perform any other duties deemed necessary by management.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
- High school diploma or GED and/or equivalent work experience or vocational training
- At least two years of maintenance experience required.
- Maintenance with a resort and/or hotel preferred
QUALIFICATIONS
- Must have ability to perform skilled work in general maintenance.
- Must have high quality skills in painting, tile, plumbing, carpentry and electrical.
- Must have ability to perform skilled work in finish/trim-out construction.
- Specializations in drywall finishing, cabinetry, flooring and laminate repair.
- Must have ability to problem-solve and troubleshoot repair work.
- Must have knowledge of hand and power tools and a mechanical aptitude.
- Ability to provide excellent customer service.
- Must be able to follow written instruction and complete documentation associated with unit maintenance.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
- Any certification is a plus, which includes HVAC, CPO, EPA
- American Red Cross CPR/ AED rescue certification preferred
General Maintenance Technician III: Performs maintenance service and repairs in the areas of HVAC systems, plumbing, drywall, texture, tile, carpentry, painting, electrical, cabinetry, laminates, and appliance servicing at the journeyman level. This position is knowledgeable in the procedures and safety measures associated with industry and company standards. Familiar with a variety of these fields’ concepts, practices, and procedures. Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of complicated tasks and a wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected. Work in a team environment to do repairs, and preparation of the facility buildings. Handle repairs in facility areas/building that might include HVAC systems, ceramic tiles, painting, repair and replacement of wallboard systems, wall vinyl, carpentry, cabinetry, laminates and other related fields. Must be able to perform highly skilled finish work in cabinetry, wall/ floor covering and finishes, and laminate repair. This is a Journeyman level position.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND TASKS:
- Interprets the facilities operations management strategies for managing the quality of guest condominiums, resort amenities and facilities, and campus grounds. Strategically schedules a range of facilities care work tasks described in the plan for the day and future days/weeks/months using the facilities operations system of record.
- Communicates with leaders to schedule and rapid-response work tasks to available skilled internal and contractor partners resources. Works independently, while monitoring work pace completion compared to established performance standards, reprioritizes and redirects work according to changing business conditions, and advises management on variance to standards.
- Uses multiple methods of communications to connect frequently with guest services (front desk) staff, housekeeping, maintenance technicians, contractor partners and resort guests for collection and dissemination of business-critical information. Works with leadership to triage facility issues, set service response expectations and validation that work has been completed to quality control and guest expectations.
- Analyzes information from systems of record to identify trends in compliance performance. Advises leadership, front office, and regional support on findings for process improvement solutions.
- Conducts quality inspections on all facility buildings and takes the lead on any special projects assigned by leader.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
- High school diploma or GED
- Minimum of three years combination of work experience and/or vocational training
- Maintenance experience at journeyman level in multiple areas of facilities maintenance
QUALIFICATIONS
- Must have superior ability to perform skilled work in general and facility maintenance.
- Must have superior skills in painting, tile, plumbing, carpentry and electrical.
- Must have ability to problem-solve and repair major appliances.
- Must have knowledge of hand and power tools and a mechanical aptitude.
- Must have strong troubleshooting and face to face guest communication skills.
- Must be able to follow written instruction and complete documentation associated with unit maintenance.
- Ability to collaborative with cross function work groups that results in positive outcomes.
