Position Overview:
The Environmental Services role oversees the day-to-day operations of the laundry department, ensuring compliance with current federal, state, and local standards, guidelines, and regulations, maintaining an adequate supply of laundry/linen to meet resident needs at all times. This position also encompasses day-to-day housekeeping activities, adhering to current federal, state, and local standards, guidelines, and regulations, ensuring the facility is maintained in a clean, safe, and sanitary manner. Furthermore, this position is responsible for general facility maintenance, keeping it clean and safe in accordance with current applicable guidelines and regulations, established policies and procedures, and as directed by supervision.
- Perform day-to-day housekeeping functions as assigned.
- Clean/polish furnishing, fixtures, ledges, room heating/cooling units, etc., in resident rooms, recreational areas, etc., daily as instructed.
- Clean floors, to include sweeping, dusting, damp/wet mopping, stripping, waxing, buffing, disinfecting, etc
- Ensure that established infection control and universal precautions practices are maintained when performing laundry procedures.
- Participate in appropriate in-service training programs prior to performing tasks that involve potential exposure to blood, body fluids, or hazardous chemicals.
- Use appropriate personal protective equipment and supplies when handling infectious materials and/or hazardous wastes or chemicals.
- Receive and follow janitorial schedule/instructions from your supervisor and as outlined in our established janitorial policies and procedures.
- Clean and buff hallways, laundry/utility rooms, kitchen, dining/activity rooms and patient rooms as scheduled.
- Replace burned out light bulbs, to include, exit lights, overhead lights, fluorescent lights, room call lights, etc.
Qualifications:
- Availability to work weekends and holidays is required.
- Must be able to collaborate effectively within a team environment.
- Preference for working within a skilled nursing facility setting is desired.
- Other related duties as assigned.
