Data Center Support Technician
Position Overview :
Special Project – 6 month contract
We are seeking a Data Center Support Technician to assist with data center consolidation tasks, hardware deployment, troubleshooting, and general maintenance. The ideal candidate will have experience working in a data center, QA, or lab engineering environment and possess strong attention to detail in maintaining documentation.
Responsibilities :
Assist with all data center consolidation tasks, including cable management, hardware deployment, and troubleshooting.
Identify and triage hardware issues, coordinating with vendors for repairs.
Configure and troubleshoot IPMI (Intelligent Platform Management Interface).
Utilize Microsoft Office for documentation and reporting.
Label and organize equipment, ensuring accurate cable labeling.
Manage assigned tasks using the ServiceNow ticketing system.
Maintain real-time communication with the project team via email and Slack.
Follow directions from the on-site team and adhere to safety guidelines while working in the data center.
Handle additional tasks as directed by the project or on-site team.
Qualifications :
Education : Associate degree or certification in a related field and / or relevant work experience.
Experience : 1 years of experience in operations, data center support, QA, or lab engineering.
Strong attention to detail in maintaining CMDB (Configuration Management Database) and data center documentation.
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
Familiarity with data center environments, hardware, and cable management.
Experience with ServiceNow or similar ticketing tools is a plus.
Availability to work Monday – Friday (8 : 00 AM – 5 : 00 PM), with occasional weekend work as needed.
