We are seeking an experienced Engineering Manager to lead a team of talented engineers and drive technical excellence in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. In this role, you will oversee engineering operations, define technical strategy, manage project timelines, and ensure efficient execution. The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, and capable of balancing multiple priorities while fostering innovation and collaboration.
Responsibilities
- Lead high-impact engineering projects that enhance company performance, such as securing California DSA approval or standardizing engineering detailing for production.
- Serve as a key member of the senior management team, collaborating with the President and department heads to shape the company’s growth.
- Build, mentor, and develop a high-performing engineering team, ensuring both technical and professional development.
- Oversee project planning, prioritization, and execution to ensure timely delivery of high-quality products.
- Provide technical direction and make critical design decisions to guide teams through complex challenges.
- Collaborate with project management and cross-functional teams to define technical requirements and align goals.
- Manage resource allocation, balancing workloads, and prioritizing projects based on business needs.
- Continuously improve departmental processes, tools, and workflows to enhance efficiency and productivity.
- Act as a liaison between engineering and other departments, providing regular updates on project progress and technical challenges.
- Oversee the engineering department’s budget, including resource allocation and technology investments.
- Develop and track key performance metrics that align with the company’s strategic goals.
- Manage design changes within standard product lines and maintain related drawing revisions.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, preferably Structural Engineering.
- 5 years of experience in engineering management or a similar leadership role.
- Strong technical background with hands-on experience in engineering practices.
- Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and collaborate with product and design teams.
- Proficiency in 2D & 3D design software such as Solid Edge, AutoCAD, or SolidWorks.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and adapt to changing priorities.
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to make critical decisions under pressure.
