Revenue Accounting Manager

The Manager of Revenue Accounting will be a key member of the Revenue Accounting team and will report to the Senior Manager of Revenue. As a top candidate, you should have a desire to learn and analyze complex revenue transactions and go-to market strategies using your understanding of Hardware, Software and SaaS revenue recognition (ASC 606). This role will be part of the Revenue Team leadership responsible for developing and growing a world class team as the company continues to grow.
Responsibilities :
- Ensure revenue recognition in company financials is in accordance with US GAAP / ASC 606
- Execute monthly / quarterly revenue accounting close efforts, including revenue allocation calculations, journal entry preparation, reconciliation procedures, RPO preparation, SSP calculation, controls, and the preparation and review of auditable workpapers.
- Collaborate on quarterly reporting, providing slides for CAO / CFO readouts on quarterly results.
- Monitor daily revenue transactions and approve non-standard requests, including assessment of payment terms, return rights, and similar conditions.
- Contribute to ad-hoc projects and cross-functional initiatives as needed.
- Daily monitoring and reviews of revenue transactions and approvals of non-standard requests.
- You will provide technical revenue recognition guidance in accordance with our existing revenue policy, ASC 606 and in accordance to U.S. GAAP in order to properly recognize revenue.
- Partner with the Deal Desk team to provide revenue recognition guidance during contract negotiations.
- Review and assist with contract revenue write-up process and partner with our external auditors to ensure the accuracy of our revenue is maintained.
- Perform technical guidance (ASC 606) research and provide solutions / options to new and complex issues.
- As specific revenue matters develop prepare technical revenue memos and work with our external auditors to ensure they are discussed and signed off in a timely manner.
- Help lead and manage ad-hoc projects providing recurring status updates on progress, gaps, roadmaps and estimated closure.
- Exceptional problem solver – uses rigorous logic and methods to solve problems and is excellent at honest analysis. Doesn’t stop at first answers rather he / she will strive to seek the correct answer.
- Extensive experience and ability to utilize excel – the majority of our final accounting is handled in excel
- Strong business acumen – can identify risk and opportunity.
- An efficient multi-tasker – can marshal resources and orchestrate multiple activities at once to accomplish their goal.
Qualifications :
Compensation : $66 - $88 per hour
