Dynamic Bay Area startup is seeking a Platform Product Manager. This person will be in charge of overseeing the infrastructure that powers cutting-edge real-time 3D positioning technology. This includes everything from the reception of radio signals to the precise delivery of location data. Your responsibilities will involve managing how signals are collected from various sources (e.g., proprietary hardware, 5G networks, Wi-Fi), overseeing the systems that process these signals, ensuring reliable delivery of location data to both internal applications and external partners to ensure the platform is scalable, high-performing, and adaptable across different industries.

Most Important Responsibilities:

· Define and refine the product vision, strategy, and roadmap for the platform infrastructure that supports real-time 3D positioning technology.

· Set requirements for the end-to-end data flow: from signal acquisition (via proprietary hardware, 5G networks, or Wi-Fi) to processing and delivery via internal systems or external APIs.

· Develop specifications for internal APIs and backend systems that transform raw signal data into real-time, high-precision location outputs.

· Design, scale, and maintain external APIs to facilitate seamless integration of real-time positioning data into customer and partner platforms.

· Lead integration efforts with system integrators, 5G radio access networks (RAN), wi-fi providers, and other relevant partners.

· Collaborate with engineering teams to define and prioritize hardware and firmware requirements, ensuring a balance between technical feasibility, cost-effectiveness, and business goals.

· Establish security, data governance, and platform reliability standards in partnership with technical stakeholders.

· Conduct market analysis and competitive research to identify opportunities for innovation and ensure a competitive advantage.

· Ensure that the platform is scalable and flexible to meet the needs of various industries, customers, and deployment models.

· Lead discovery sessions with customers and partners to gather integration requirements, prioritize features, and guide roadmap decisions.

· Define, track, and iterate on system-levels KPIs that measure performance, scalability, and reliability.

· Work closely with sales and customer success teams to streamline customer onboarding, integration planning, and technical enablement.

· Communicate platform updates, architectural changes, and roadmap priorities effectively to both internal and external stakeholders.

· Provide guidance on and ensure the creation of clear technical documentation for APIs, integration processes, and platform capabilities.

What you can bring to the table to impact this role, team, and organization:

· 10 years of industry experience.

· Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, or related field.

· Strong technical understanding of radio networks (5G, Wi-Fi), cloud infrastructure, IoT systems, and data pipelines.

· Experience using system performance data to inform product decisions and optimizations.

· Experience with telecommunications providers, RAN venders, Wi-Fi providers, IoT hardware vendors, and/or system integrators.

· Proven ability to define, measure, and iterate on KPIs related to platform performance, latency, throughput, and reliability.

· Proven experience in product management for infrastructure platforms, APIs, or hardware/software integrations.

· Hands-on experience with product development methodologies, including planning, iterative development, and backlog prioritization.

· Ability to collaborate across teams, including engineering, partners, and customers to drive impactful platform enhancements.

· Strong communication and collaboration skills with the ability to translate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

· Expertise in product prioritization frameworks to handle competing technical and business requirements.

· Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to navigate technical challenges while delivering value to the business.

Nice-to-Have/Bonus Skills:

· Familiarity with cloud platforms, location-based services, IoT systems, radio hardware, 5G networks, and Wi-Fi networks.

· Knowledge of edge computing or real-time data processing architectures.

· Experience in system architecture design and the creation of technical specifications.

· Background in managing product requirements for real-time complex distributed systems.

· Familiarity with API design best practices, data privacy standards, and performance optimization for large-scale systems.

· Understanding of telecommunications industry and standards and protocols.

· Experience with managing open-source software integrations.
