Sr Director - Commissions

Location : Cincinnati, OH 45209 | Hybrid Remote : 2-3 days in the office per week

Travel : Quarterly company events in Cincinnati

General Overview

We’re seeking an experienced and strategic leader to join our team as the Senior Director of Commissions. In this role, you will have the unique opportunity to shape the organization’s commission strategy, overseeing the design, implementation, and management of commission structures and processes. Reporting to the Finance organization, you will collaborate closely with Sales leadership to ensure commission plans are aligned with business goals and effectively motivate the sales team.

Responsibilities

Commission Plan Design

  • Develop and implement commission plans that align with the company’s strategic objectives.
  • Ensure commission plans are competitive, motivating, and compliant with relevant regulations.

Commissions Calculation and Payments

  • Oversee accurate commission calculations based on sales performance.
  • Ensure timely and precise commission payments to the sales team.

    • Data Management and Reporting

  • Maintain accurate records of sales performance and commission payouts.
  • Provide regular reports on commission payouts and the effectiveness of commission plans.

    • Collaboration and Communication

  • Partner with Sales and People & Culture teams to ensure alignment and clear communication regarding commission plans.
  • Promptly address any issues or discrepancies related to commission payments.

    • Process Improvement

  • Continuously assess and enhance commission processes to improve efficiency and accuracy.
  • Simplify and streamline commission plans, reducing their overall number across the organization.
  • Regularly review and update commission plans to align with best practices in SaaS organizations.

    • Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • 5-7 years of experience in commission management, sales operations, or a related field.
  • Proven expertise in designing commission plans for both new sales and customer success, ideally within a SaaS environment.
  • Demonstrated success in improving commission-related processes to drive efficiency and alignment with business objectives.
  • Strong ability to collaborate across functions and proactively address commission-related challenges.
  • Excellent analytical skills and keen attention to detail.
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Leadership experience, including managing a team.
