With community residents leading the way, the mission of Cypress Hills Local Development Corporation (CHLDC) is to build a strong, sustainable Cypress Hills / East New York, where youth and adults achieve educational and economic success, secure healthy and affordable housing, and develop leadership skills to transform their lives and community.
Cypress Hills Local Development Corporation has an opening for one (1) part-time Afterschool Coordinator at the PS 108 Community School in the Youth and Family Services division.
Principal Duties :
- Supervise holistic, engaging, and quality after-school and summer camp programming, incorporating literacy, arts, STEM, fitness, and service learning.
- Ensure that the afterschool program has cohesion with the school day curriculum, and has a quality homework help period each day.
- Provide weekly individual supervision to group leaders and youth workers in collaboration with the CS Director.
- Address the individual and collective needs of students and parents, and solicit their input into programming.
- Collect and maintain required program records.
- Ensure adherence to health and safety standards and regulations.
- Maintain active communication with school stakeholders.
- Conduct weekly staff meetings.
- Collaborate with organizational leadership and affiliated programs such as AmeriCorps.
- Attend all required site and agency meetings.
- Ensure compliance with contractual obligations to funders and governing bodies.
- Assist the CS Director in fiscal tracking and management.
- Represent Cypress Hills Local Development Corporation as directed.
- Other duties as required.
