Cypress Physical Therapy is seeking an energetic and experienced licensed physical therapist to join our team.
Summary : Evaluates for and administers all forms of Physical Therapy; exercises general and close supervision of supportive personnel; assists in administration of the office; performs related duties as required.
Details of Duties :
1. Evaluates patients with a variety of diagnoses, establishes treatment plans and formulates goals.
2. Performs procedures, modalities, ADL activities and exercise programs indicated by a patient’s condition and functional status. Fabricates orthotics according to patient’s needs.
3. Maintains accurate and timely patient records including, but not limited to, progress notes, patient evaluation, re-evaluations, discharge summaries and billing forms.
4. Supervises Physical Therapy assistants.
5. Participates in the department’s quality improvement and safety programs as assigned.
6. When necessary, co-signs Physical Therapy Assistant documentation after reviewing for content and appropriateness.
7. Provides direct and indirect supervision to Physical Therapy Assistants through verbal or written instruction and feedback regarding a patient’s treatment and progress. Also provides information to other medical / allied health personnel regarding a patient’s progress, needs and discharge plan.
8. Instructs patient and family in appropriate exercises to continue at home and provides written material as needed for a reference.
Administration :
1. Attends scheduled management meetings and participates appropriately.
2. Maintains accurate understanding of and follows all policies and procedures regarding safety, documentation, infection control, cleaning confidentiality.
3. Assists in the cleaning and maintenance of department equipment and supplies. Reports any need for repair to department heads.
4. Accepts other duties and assignments within his / her scope of knowledge, skills and abilities.
Education : Doctoral Degree in Physical Therapy & current Louisiana licensure.
Experience : Previous experience is desired but not required.
Contacts : Internal communications include contact with patients, staff and family members. External communications include contact with physicians, social and community groups, professional associations and organizations and sales people of medical equipment and supplies.
Physical Demands : Lifting, pushing, pulling and assisting patients with exercise as well as patient transfers. Must be able to lift 50 pounds from the floor to bed height.
Working Conditions : May be exposed to infectious diseases, electricity and strain from moving and / or supporting patients.
