Staff Development Coordinator/Infection Preventionist Nurse (RN)

Cedar Valley Nursing and Rehab is seeking a full-time Staff Development Coordinator/IP Nurse .

We are looking for a dynamic nurse with experience working in skilled nursing/long-term care to take on this unique position.

SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES:

• THIS IS AN ON CALL POSITION*
• Provide new employee orientation and in-service education.
• Coordinate pre-employment screenings/testing.
• Assist and conduct interviews for clinical positions
• Assess educational needs of center and provide education as needed
• Work to decrease the incidence and transmission of infectious diseases between patients, staff, visitors, and the community
• Maintain appropriate records documenting attendance at orientations, in-services and CNA training programs.
• Actively participate in the safety program for the facility.
• Plan in-service education programs for all employees in collaboration with respective department head staff
• Lead and coordinate a robust team in the identification and implementation of infection prevent goals
• Provide instruction to develop and improve overall quality of care
• Provide the Director of Nursing with monthly outlines of the planned educational programs and monthly infection control reporting
• Assist the Director of Nursing when necessary.
• Decreasing the incidence and transmission of infectious diseases between patients, staff, visitors, and the community.
• Lead and direct a robust team in the identification and implementation of infection prevention goals and objectives throughout the facility.
