Position Summary
Cypress Valley Center for Nursing and Rehabilitation is seeking an experienced and compassionate Director of Rehabilitation to lead and manage our skilled therapy department. This position is responsible for overseeing the delivery of high-quality rehabilitative services—including physical, occupational, and speech therapy—to ensure residents achieve optimal outcomes and quality of life. The ideal candidate will bring a strong clinical background, leadership expertise, and a commitment to person-centered care.
Essential Responsibilities

Oversee the day-to-day operations of the rehabilitation department.

Supervise and support a multidisciplinary team of therapists and therapy assistants.

Coordinate therapy services in collaboration with nursing, medical, and administrative staff.

Ensure accurate and timely documentation in accordance with regulatory and billing standards.

Develop and monitor individualized treatment plans to meet residents’ needs and goals.

Track department performance, outcomes, and compliance with quality assurance initiatives.

Provide ongoing staff education, mentoring, and performance evaluations.

Maintain compliance with federal, state, and facility policies and procedures.

Serve as a liaison for families, physicians, and healthcare partners regarding resident care and progress.

Promote a culture of excellence, dignity, and respect within the department and throughout the facility.
Qualifications

Licensed Physical Therapist (PT), Occupational Therapist (OT), or Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) in the state of North Carolina (required).

Minimum of 3 years’ clinical experience in a long-term care or skilled nursing setting.

At least 1 year of leadership or management experience in a rehabilitation role.

Strong knowledge of Medicare guidelines, MDS, and reimbursement practices.

Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills.

Ability to lead a team with compassion, professionalism, and a focus on resident-centered outcomes.
