Job Title: English Language Arts (ELA) Teacher (Grades 6-8) Location: Cyrus Peirce Middle School, Nantucket, MA Reports To: Principal Job Summary: Cyrus Peirce Middle School is seeking a dedicated and dynamic English Language Arts (ELA) Teacher for grades 6-8. The ideal candidate will foster a love of reading and writing while developing students' critical thinking, literacy, and communication skills. This position requires a commitment to student-centered learning, collaboration, and differentiation to meet the diverse needs of middle school learners. Key Responsibilities: Plan, develop, and implement engaging ELA lessons aligned with state and district curriculum standards. Foster a supportive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages student growth in reading, writing, speaking, and listening. Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse needs of students, including English language learners and students with individualized education plans (IEPs). Utilize a variety of instructional strategies, including technology integration, to enhance student learning. Assess and monitor student progress through formative and summative assessments, providing timely feedback and adjusting instruction accordingly. Promote a culture of literacy by incorporating diverse texts and genres that reflect a range of perspectives and experiences. Collaborate with colleagues, support staff, and administration to ensure student success. Communicate effectively with students, families, and stakeholders regarding student progress and classroom expectations. Participate in professional development and ongoing learning opportunities. Uphold school and district policies, including classroom management and student conduct expectations.

Salary : $77,425 - $130,688
