TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: School Year Contract
Nantucket Public Schools is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Wellness/Physical Education (PE) Teacher for the 2025-2026 school year. The ideal candidate will be committed to promoting a holistic approach to student health and fitness, combining both physical education and wellness education to support the development of healthy, well-rounded students.
Key Responsibilities:
•Develop and implement a comprehensive curriculum that integrates wellness and physical education for students in grades K-12.
•Teach health education topics including nutrition, mental health, substance abuse prevention, human sexuality, and overall wellness.
•Conduct physical education classes focusing on fitness, motor skills, sportsmanship, and team activities.
•Create an inclusive, positive, and engaging classroom environment that promotes physical activity, health awareness, and overall well-being.
•Collaborate with school staff, parents, and community members to support and enhance student wellness initiatives.
•Monitor and assess student progress, providing constructive feedback and adjusting teaching strategies as necessary.
•Organize and participate in extracurricular activities, including sports teams, wellness clubs, and school-wide health events.
•Stay informed about the latest trends and best practices in wellness and physical education through continuous professional development.
•Ensure compliance with all state and federal regulations related to health and physical education.
•Promote lifelong healthy habits and a positive attitude towards physical activity and wellness.
Salary : $77,425 - $130,688
