Role Overview:
We are looking for a detail-oriented and experienced Accounts Receivable Representative with expertise in mental health billing. The ideal candidate will excel in managing claims, resolving billing issues, and handling interactions with patients and insurance companies. This position is located in our Las Vegas office.
Key Responsibilities:
- Claims Management: Efficiently handle the filing of claims, manage accounts receivable follow-ups, and process payment postings.
- Insurance Communication: Manage inbound calls from patients regarding payments and make outbound calls to insurance payers for benefit verification, authorization, claims status, denials, and appeals.
- Billing Issues: Resolve claim rejections and denials, manage insurance disputes, and draft effective appeals for reimbursement.
- Compliance: Adhere to HIPAA regulations and maintain up-to-date knowledge of state and federal billing guidelines.
- Documentation: Keep accurate daily accounts, manage correspondence, and maintain detailed billing records.
Requirements:
- Experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience in accounts receivable for mental health billing or similar roles.
- Skills: Proficient in medical terminology, insurance processes, and EHR systems. Experience with AdvancedMD is a plus.
- Knowledge: Familiarity with ICD-10/CPT/HCPCS coding, DSM V, and billing regulations.
- Competencies: Strong communication skills, exceptional attention to detail, multitasking abilities, and proficiency in Microsoft Office applications. Spanish-speaking skills are a plus.
Essential Functions:
- Resolve billing and payment issues, including managing credit balances and missing payments.
- Draft and submit effective appeals to insurance companies for denied claims.
- Ensure compliance with contracts and internal policies.
- Communicate effectively with patients, insurance companies, and team members.
Other Skills:
- Advanced organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
- Capable of working independently as well as part of a collaborative team.
- Proficient in using billing software and general office equipment.
Compensation and Benefits:
- Salary: $19 - $22 per hour, based on experience.
