Position Overview:
As an AI Data Scientist intern within the Discovery Technologies team, you will contribute to developing and implementing AI-powered solutions using AWS Bedrock and other cutting-edge technologies. This paid internship requires on-site presence at our South San Francisco headquarters for approximately 12 weeks, beginning in late May/early June. As an AI Data Scientist intern within the Discovery Technologies team, you will contribute to developing and implementing AI-powered solutions using AWS Bedrock and other cutting-edge technologies. The role focuses on building intelligent agents to enhance our drug discovery processes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and deploy AI agents using AWS Bedrock and Lambda functions
- Create interactive front-end applications using Vue.js framework to interact with agents
- Design and implement RESTful APIs for AI service integration
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand scientific requirements
- Document and present technical solutions to stakeholders
Requirements:
- Currently enrolled graduate student in Computer Science, Data Science, or related field
- Programming skills in Python, and scientific computing libraries such as pandas, numpy, scikit-learn
- Experience with AWS services (Bedrock, Lambda, S3)
- Familiarity with modern JavaScript frameworks
- Understanding of RESTful APIs and microservices architecture
- Experience with version control systems (Git)
- Basic understanding of machine learning concepts
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work in a team environment
Additional Experience Highly Desirable:
- Previous work with large language models (LLMs)
- Frontend development using Vue.js
- API development and integration experience
- Experience with SQL and database technologies (i.e. PostgreSQL or Oracle)
- Understanding of software development best practices
