Job Description:
The Process Development Associate I conducts laboratory experiments as part of development and/or demonstration of processes related to purification of biopharmaceutical products. The Associate also participates in activities related to the maintenance and upkeep of the Process Development Lab.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Performs purification procedures and ancillary functions to assist with downstream processing of biopharmaceutical products including buffer formulation and preparation, chromatography, filtration, and SDS-PAGE analysis.
· Prepares data summaries, reports and process descriptions for process development activities.
· Maintains detailed and accurate records by logging equipment usage, procedures and results in logbooks, Batch Records, or laboratory notebooks in accordance with GDPs.
· Stays current with all training requirements.
· Maintains and troubleshoots general laboratory equipment including Aktas and TFF systems.
· Maintains a clean workspace and participates in general housekeeping efforts
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
· Bachelor’s degree in a life science field
· 0-3 years of direct related experience
· Must be able to work full-time and the occasional nights and weekends
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to stand and sit. The employee is occasionally required to walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles and toxic or caustic chemicals consistent with a lab environment. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate
