Summary:
D.A. Davidson’s Fixed Income Capital Markets team is seeking an institutional Loan Trading Desk Associate interested in building the knowledge and skills required to support loan trading activity with institutional clients including banks, credit unions, insurance companies and private funds. This individual would work closely with the loan trading desk and sales personnel.
\n- Develop and maintain a working knowledge of the loan and lending markets across a myriad of loan sectors and products.
- Gain the skills necessary to thoroughly analyze loan portfolios and generate sales strategies including sales presentations and loan pricing.
- Observe loan client presentations on lending and risk strategy.
- Develop a conversational vocabulary regarding the capital markets, banking and lending.
- Assist with the settlement of loan portfolio transactions and gain an understanding of the process and responsibilities.
- Develop the analytical skills necessary to identify the needs of institutional clients through effective communication, balance sheet analysis and listening techniques.
- Complete study materials and preparation for the Series 7 and 63 exams.
- Using knowledge gained in the first 6 months, transition to assuming transaction settlement responsibilities.
- Responsibilities include maintaining organized files and records relating to trade activity.
- Perform analytics on loan data files in support of presentation and trade activity.
- Maintain and adhere to D.A. Davidson’s working structure, policies, mission, strategies, and compliance guidelines.
- Operate standard office equipment and using required software applications to produce correspondence, reports, and electronic communication.
- Ability to organize, manage, and track multiple detailed tasks and assignments with frequently changing priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced work environment.
- Keep all appropriate parties up-to-date on decisions, changes, and other relevant information.
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships with others across the organization.
- Education: Bachelor’s Degree, or equivalent work experience in related field.
- Experience: Two to four years in a related field, preferred.
- Certifications: Ideal candidates will have or plan to earn the Series 7 & 63.
- Demonstrated ability to manage time and responsibilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
- Candidate must be open to working at a Davidson office in Memphis, TN.
