The D’Addario GSC Intern will have a unique opportunity to gain experience in purchasing, international trade, import-export, and warehouse operations while also being part of one of the world’s largest manufacturers in the music industry. The Intern will report to D’Addario’s Strategic Sourcing Manager. He/She/They will play a critical role in (1) researching information and intelligence needed for navigating the trade war; (2) validating and updating pack factors, weights and dimensions of inventoried raw materials; and (3) supporting the day-to-day activities of the Global Supply Chain division.
This internship will be in-person Tuesday and Thursday at our Farmingdale, Long Island office. This internship will be part time up to a max of 16 hours per week.
Responsibilities
- Reach out to overseas suppliers to confirm tariff rates in their countries (for determining Reciprocal Tariff rates)
- Plot D’Addario worldwide vendors on Google Maps
- Measure and weigh boxes and record the weights and dimensions.
- Reach out to suppliers to obtain missing information about carton weights & dims.
- Conduct manual searches of scanned documents and transcribe data from scans into Excel spreadsheets to support strategic analysis and decision-making
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent; obtained or on track to obtain by close of 2024-25 academic year
- Individual located in the NYC or Long Island area
- Strong organization and time-management skills
- Able to listen and communicate effectively.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office/365 (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel, etc.)
- Eager to learn and contribute.
The hourly rate for this position will be $20.00 per hour.
