The Sensory Percussion Intern is responsible for supporting the product and business initiatives for the assigned instrument category, primarily Evans Hybrid. The position reports to and takes strategic direction from the Sensory Percussion Product Manager and is responsible for increasing the demand for products through the following (but not limited to) activities; product research and development, product line maintenance, competitive analysis and research, marketing and content production, consumer outreach support, and more.
This internship will be in-person at our Farmingdale, Long Island office. This internship will be part time up to a max of 25 hours per week.
Responsibilities
- Assist Product Manager (PM) and Product Specialist with the development and launch of new products, including; testing, validation, item setup, packaging, operations coordination, communications, etc.
- Assist in showcasing Sensory Percussion in digital formats including videos, social media and livestreams
- Facilitate conversation with potential customers digitally, in person & on the phone. Provide information, inspiration and a human touch during the selling process and support and community for users after sale. Contribute to CRM management. Assist consumer engagement via blogs, social media, forums, consumer inquiries, etc.
- Assist in the creation of preset kits and software assets within Sensory Percussion for individual use or mass audience
- Assist in coordination of artist activity as needed
- Support brand specific or specialty tasks or projects as directed by PM
- Assist with tasks for other percussion brands (Evans Promark) as needed
- Close proximity to NY Office required
- Plays drums at a high level, passionate and knowledgeable about drums, drum hardware/accessories, electronic drumming tools and technology
- Experience using Sensory Percussion
- Experience using other music production software and hardware (DAW, eKits, samplers, recording hardware, synthesizers, etc)
- Experience recording music and self-filming
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to problem solve and think both critically and creatively Ability to organize projects and meet timelines with a strong attention to detail
Qualifications
- Pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in music, engineering, business, marketing, music business or music education
- 5 years of drumming experience
- Music industry, music retail or music education experience a plus
- Self-starter, shows consistent high level of enthusiasm, commitment, dedication, ownership, responsibility, initiative, follow-through
- Attention to detail
- Ability to meet deadlines
- Desire to learn, help and go the extra mile
- Demonstrates positive attitude/team player
The hourly rate for this position will be $20.00 per hour.
