Forklift Driver

Position: Forklift Yard Driver

REQUIREMENTS:

• Safely operate forklift in an efficient and precise manner
• Complete & pass OSHA approved forklift certification test
• Basic math skills (add, subtract, multiply, and divide)
• Strong communication skills
• Read and understand documents in English
• Communicate with supervision, truck drivers, or outside vendors
• Work Monday to Saturday with occasional Sundays
• Work day or night shift
• Work in all outdoor weather conditions
• Work in a cold room environment
• Knowledge to operate machinery and equipment required to perform essential job functions, including, but not limited to, scan gun, propane forklift, sweeper, scissor lift, bin dumper, trash compactor, propane tank
• Safely lift up to 50 pounds
• Self-starter, self-motivated, and ability to work with minimal supervision
• Regular and consistent attendance mandatory
• Safety conscious
• Work in a fast paced team oriented environment while maintaining a positive attitude

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

• Perform pre-op inspection of forklift, complete inspection report(s), and report any issues to supervision
• Sign-out necessary equipment necessary to perform essential job functions
• Load/unload product/materials on/off field/delivery trucks
• Transport product to the correct cooling station(s) and/or cold box
• Proper rotation of product by using first in, first out (FIFO) system
• Merge and scan partial pallets
• Manually stack and/or restack cartons weighing up to 50 pounds
• Manually move and manipulate pallets
• Utilize cleaning equipment such as sweeper, broom, shovel, squeegee, etc. to maintain all work areas clean.
• Follow all verbal and written instructions from company supervision
• Understand and follow all company rules and regulations, including but not limited to the following.
• Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP)
• D’Arrigo Standard Operating Procedures (SOP)
• Sanitation Standard Operating Procedures (SSOP)
• Driscoll’s Standard Operating Procedures (SOP)
• Attendance, Work and Safety Rules
• Food Safety and Hygiene Policy
• Miscellaneous duties and tasks as assigned by Supervision

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $22.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
