Responsibilities:
- Manage daily accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, bank reconciliations, and financial reporting in compliance with GAAP principles
- Lead month-end and year-end closing processes, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting
- Collaborate with internal shareholders to develop budgets, conduct financial analyses, and create forecasts
- Coordinate with external accounting firms for annual tax preparation and year-end audits for all D&B entities
- Manage cash activities, including cash flow reporting and forecasting, client payments and disbursements
- Develop and implement internal controls
- Oversee payroll processing
- Prepare and present monthly board reports
- Create and maintain compensation schedules
- Ensure compliance with federal acquisition regulations (FAR)
- Oversee company expense management, including account monitoring, expense reporting compliance, and transaction reconciliation
- Provide leadership and mentorship to the accounting team
- Provide assistance with strategic planning, forecasts and projections
- Recommend and implement Best Practices for A/E firms
- Manage the firms office leases
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
- 10 years of experience in accounting, 3 years of management experience
- Strong knowledge and understanding of GAAP principles
- Knowledge of project accounting software for engineering firms (BST & QuickBooks)
- Exceptional leadership, problem solving, and decision-making skills
- Experience with Engineering/Architectural firms a plus
- Experience in Professional Services firm
- Strong Administrative and Communication skills
Salary Range:
$150,000 – $165,000
