Position Overview: We are seeking a dedicated Sports Psychologist to join our team. The ideal candidate will be passionate about helping athletes achieve peak performance through mental and emotional support. This role involves working closely with athletes, coaches, teams, and support staff to develop and implement strategies that enhance performance, resilience, and overall well-being.

Key Responsibilities:

• Individual and Group Counseling:
• Provide one-on-one and group counseling sessions to athletes to address performance issues, anxiety, stress, and personal challenges.
• Develop personalized mental training plans to help athletes improve focus, motivation, and mental toughness.
• Performance Enhancement:
• Collaborate with coaches and athletes to create strategies for peak performance and overcoming performance barriers.
• Utilize techniques such as visualization, goal setting, and relaxation training to enhance athletic performance.
• Team Dynamics:
• Facilitate team-building exercises and workshops to improve communication, cohesion, and interpersonal relationships within the team.
• Address and mediate conflicts that may arise among team members or between athletes and coaching staff.
• Assessment and Evaluation:
• Conduct psychological assessments to evaluate athletes' mental health, performance-related issues, and readiness for competition.
• Monitor and assess progress, adjusting strategies as needed to ensure optimal outcomes.
• Education and Training:
• Educate athletes, coaches, and staff on mental health topics, stress management, and strategies for maintaining psychological well-being.
• Offer workshops and seminars on various psychological aspects of sports performance.
• Collaboration and Support:
• Maintain confidential records and documentation related to counseling sessions and athlete progress.

Qualifications:

• Degree in Sports Psychology, Clinical Psychology, Counseling Psychology, or a related field.
• Licensed or certified as a psychologist in Georgia.
• Proven experience working with athletes at various levels, beginner to professional.
• Strong understanding of sports psychology theories, techniques, and practices.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and trust with athletes and staff.
• Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality and professionalism.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with specific sports or athletic disciplines relevant to our organization but able to work with athletes of any sport.
• Knowledge of current trends and research in sports psychology.
• Experience in high-performance or elite sports environments.
