What are the responsibilities and job description for the Camp Counselor position at D-BAT, Solon?
Job Summary:
As a lead camp counselor here at D-BAT Solon, you will create a positive, engaging, and safe environment for our campers. You will lead campers through various baseball/softball related activities, games, and drills. During summer camp, our counselors play a key role in promoting skill development, fostering positive relationships, and creating fun memories.
Responsibilities include:
- Supervise campers in various activities, including games and drills.
- Use daily plans and keep on a timed schedule.
- Ensure the safety of campers by following protocols and guidelines.
- Resolve conflict or behavioral issues among campers in an effective, and safe manner.
- Maintain cleanliness in the fieldhouse and party room once camp has concluded.
- Be a role model for campers by demonstrating respect, enthusiasm, and inclusivity.
- Communicate when needed with parents and other staff.
Qualifications:
- College aged or older
(High schoolers interested may apply for our assistant camp counselor role)
- Baseball/Softball experience preferred
- Enthusiastic, patient, and driven
Physical requirements:
- Ability to participate in physical activities, and demonstrate various drills.
- Capable of being on your feet for extended periods.
- Ability to lift and carry supplies as needed for camp.
- Capable of cleaning the facility after camp as needed.
Schedule:
This is a seasonal position, running from May through August. Counselors would be expected to have availability during our camp hours which are M-F from 9am- 2pm.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $12.00 - $18.00 per hour
