POSITION SUMMARY:
The Vice President role will be responsible for generating and managing new business, instilling trust with clients and ensuring flawless engagement, closing transactions, and acting as a role model and resource for the early career banking team members. The Vice President will be responsible for executing public and private capital raising and advisory transactions, including: IPOs, Follow-ons, PIPEs, private equity and debt placements, and buy-side and sell-side mergers and acquisitions. The Vice President will instill trust with clients and act as a role model and resource for the Investment Banking Associates and Analysts.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Manage deal execution and lead project management throughout the entirety of the transaction
- Play a key role supporting origination, evaluating opportunities and executing deals; will have a broad scope and variety of assignments and products across multiple sectors
- Assist in coordinating information flow and execution with product groups
- Participate in and lead marketing meetings with clients
- Daily interaction with senior team members and client management teams to execute transactions and discuss strategic alternatives
- Oversee and direct detailed valuation analyses, including DCF, trading comparables, and transaction precedents
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES MAY INCLUDE:
Directly supervising staff day to day work, as well as scheduling, tracking time and paid time off, approving overtime and payroll documentation, providing performance feedback. Includes working with General Manager and Human Resources on resolving personnel issues and making recommendations for personnel growth, duty or location changes, employee reprimands, and terminations.
REQUIRED AND PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum Education: Bachelor’s degree required
Required Licensure: Series 63, 79
- Required Experience, Skills, and/or Knowledge:
- Minimum 5 plus years of Investment Banking experience
- Experience with executing IPOs, follow on and shelf offerings and PIPEs a plus
- Strong quantitative and analytical skills
- Professional maturity and experience to interact with other senior bankers
- Excellent technology skills with superior Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint skills
- Demonstrates strategic and creative thinking and distinguished communication skills
- Ability to manage several projects at once and work effectively as an individual and as part of a team
- Strict attention to detail with demonstrated ability to take initiative
- Strong interest and understanding of financial markets, aptitude to learn, and demonstrated history of strong academic performance and professional drive
- Strong public speaking skills and comfortable with leading large group conference calls
WORKPLACE LOCATION
- Our team operates out of our beautiful offices on Madison Avenue in New York City. This role requires daily presence in the office as well as at client offices for meetings, events, etc.
SCHEDULING REQUIREMENTS
- Requires some flexibility in scheduling, such as the ability to work evenings and weekends to meet client deliverables.
TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS
- Requires ability to travel locally by car/public transportation, as well as regular domestic trips involving air travel for multi-night stays.
