What are the responsibilities and job description for the Landscape Maintenance Worker position at D&D Mulch and Landscape, Inc.?
Job Background:
D&D Mulch and Landscape, a local company selling exterior yard products (loam, mulch, decorative stone) and construction aggregates (gravel, sand, fill, stone), is expanding its operation and looking for an experienced person to add to their growing team.
This seasonal, full-time position has been created to assist the landscape foreman with fulfilling daily mowing tasks. D&D currently has 12 locations across MA and RI with a very wide customer base, so the landscaper must be willing to travel with the crew as needed. The landscaper is responsible for ensuring the completion of D&D’s landscaping services in a professional and beautiful manner. Since D&D’s locations are seasonally operated, opening in approximately April and running through sometime between Halloween and Thanksgiving, a landscaper is hired around when a retail location opens and terminated when the retail location closes, with unemployment benefits available.
This is a new position with a lot of growth potential for the right person. Our company has many long-term employees who have developed personally and professionally with our company over the last 25 years.
Job Responsibilities:
A landscaper is expected to:
- Communicate with customers in a professional manner to ensure client satisfaction
- Perform groundskeeping maintenance duties such as lawn mowing, edging and trimming around walks, flower beds, and walls

- Rake, mulch, and prune the grounds as needed
- Keep a clean truck, both inside and out. (This may include washing the interior and/or exterior at the conclusion of each business day.)
- Take constructive feedback from supervisor(s)
- Recognize and identify D&D’s products both from near and far distances
- Have exceptional attendance and reliability
Enhanced Responsibilities:
Since landscaping can occur independently of customers’ presence, it is critical that a landscaper possess extraordinary interpersonal skills in order to communicate effectively with both clients and management. A landscaper must be able to operate various maintenance equipment, such as ride-along lawn mowers, string trimmers, backpack blower, push blowers, and hedge trimmers. They must also have knowledge of mulching, planting, and applying loam to various areas. An ideal landscaper will also have a creative eye. D&D is an equal opportunity employer and women and minorities are strongly encouraged to apply.
