Job Background:
D&D Mulch and Landscape, a local company selling exterior yard products (loam, mulch, decorative stone) and construction aggregates (gravel, sand, fill, stone), is expanding its operation and looking for an experienced person to add to their growing team.
This seasonal part-time position has been created to operate a front end loader in one of D&D’s retail locations. This position operates loaders equipped with front-mounted hydraulically powered bucket which is used to transport aggregate or other materials across the yard and load trucks. Compensation will reflect operator experience.
This is a new position with a lot of growth potential for the right person. Our company has many long-term employees who have developed personally and professionally with our company over the last 25 years.
Job Responsibilities:
A Loader Operator is expected to:
- Communicate with management in a professional manner to ensure clear satisfaction
- Keep a clean machine, both inside and out (This may include washing the interior and/or exterior at the conclusion of each week.)
- Perform routine inspections to insure safety and reliability of machine while reporting repairs as needed through D&D’s software
- Take constructive feedback from supervisor(s)
- Recognize and identify high quality products and take action to correct if necessary
- Proactively respond in looking for potential hazards, problems and overall safety as well as taking corrective action
- Identify D&D’s numerous different products from a distance
- Multitask in a fast paced environment
Enhanced Responsibilities:
The loader operator will work directly under the yard manager while still taking direction from the Director of operations. They will be responsible for loading D&D’s trucks, we well as any others that are picking up material. They are expected to make proper decisions based on measurable criteria while desiring to follow and acting on all safety federal, state, local, and company regulations and policies.
Requirements:
- High school or equivalent education
- Massachusetts hydraulics license 2B or greater
- Capable of obtaining and maintaining required DOT medical card
- 1-3 Years Heavy Equipment Operation of Cat 914 loader or equivalent
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $26.00 - $30.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 – 55 per week
