Pay : With a competitive pay range of $25 - $30 / hour , this financial role offers the chance to make a meaningful impact while working alongside a supportive and dynamic accounting team.

Schedule : As our full-time Staff Accountant, you'll enjoy a steady Monday through Friday schedule, working 8 : 00 AM to 5 : 00 PM in our Vancouver office. Say goodbye to weekend shifts and hello to a predictable work-life balance.

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES AS A STAFF ACCOUNTANT

Accounts Payable & Administrative Support :

Process invoices to ensure accuracy and compliance with company policies.

Review and match invoices with purchase orders, verifying vendor information.

Enter critical data into QuickBooks with precision.

Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies to maintain strong relationships.

Prepare and issue checks, ensuring timely and accurate payments.

Provide high-level administrative support to the construction team and leadership staff.

Assist with construction billing and collections.

Budgeting & Forecasting :

Support the analysis of historical financial data to identify trends, variances, and areas for improvement.

Work closely with department managers to gather budget assumptions and validate forecasts.

Help monitor actual financial performance versus budget, identifying key variances and providing supporting documentation.

Assist in developing and maintaining financial models to improve forecasting accuracy and efficiency.

Prepare reports and presentations to support senior management in strategic decision-making.

Job Costing :

Assist in tracking and analyzing project costs, ensuring accurate allocation of expenses.

Support monitoring of job performance against budgets, helping identify cost-saving opportunities.

Prepare job cost reports and assist in variance analysis.

Work with project managers to review and refine cost estimates and budgets as needed.

Collaboration & Process Improvement :

Provide support for financial meetings with department heads by compiling data and preparing reports.

Assist the controller in implementing process improvements to enhance accuracy, efficiency, and financial transparency.

Work collaboratively across departments to align financial goals with operational needs.

REQUIREMENTS FOR A STAFF ACCOUNTANT

Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance

Must be legally authorized to work in the US

Strong analytical skills with attention to detail

Excellent communication and organizational skills to support cross-functional collaboration

Experience in job costing and project-based accounting is a plus

At least ten years of related experience is preferred but not required.
