Job Description
D.F. Pray, Inc., a single-source contractor providing a wide range of services that include design build, preconstruction, construction management and general contracting, is seeking an experienced Superintendent to lead on-site field operations.
The ideal candidate will have extensive multi-family experience, preferably in the Boston area, with strong leadership and communication skills. They will be responsible for supervising project teams, ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.
- Supervise and coordinate all field operations to successfully complete a project.
- Foster a safe work environment by enforcing safety policies and procedures.
- Communicate effectively with project teams, including subcontractors, vendors, owners, architects, and engineers.
- Develop and implement project procedures, working documents, and standards.
- Plan, coordinate, and supervise on-site functions, including scheduling, engineering, material control, and administrative tasks.
- Provide technical assistance and support as required.
- Audit and approve project personnel transactions, purchase requisitions, and field design change requests.
- Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations, safety program requirements, and work rules.
- Maintain productivity, efficient use of materials and equipment, and contractual performance of the project.
- Lead craft employees and other contractors as required by the contract.
- Complete and submit reports, logs, punch lists, and other project-related documentation.
- Reinforce company vision, mission, and values.
Qualifications
To perform this job successfully, candidates must have:
- Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university and 4-5 years of related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Minimum of 5 years of construction management and/or craft supervision experience in similar facility construction.
- Extensive experience with multi-family housing.
- Thorough knowledge of all aspects of construction, including technology, equipment, methods, craft agreements, jurisdiction, negotiations, engineering, cost control schedules, and safety requirements.
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret business documents, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
- Working knowledge of Procore Project Management software, scheduling and job costing software, and Microsoft Office.
- Knowledge of Auto Cad, Solid Works, Inventor, or similar is an asset.
