Overview
Responsible for the hospital and clinic charging dictionaries and overall compliance.
Responsibilities
- Develops and implements the annual review of the charge structure and patient charging process for both hospital and clinical sections.
- Coordinates work efforts related to completing scheduled reviews with all necessary areas.
- Facilitates the oversight and monitoring processes which will ensure any changes to departmental systems and the associated billing interfaces are coordinated and adequately tested.
- Responsible for designing and monitoring the processes by which the Hospital and Clinic chargemasters are updated, as well as communicating the details of the process to Hospital and Clinic Administration.
- Responsible for ensuring the appropriateness of billing practices, prior to the start of new clinical services.
- Ensures annual updates to the Hospital and Clinic chargemasters have been implemented. Accountable for communicating the details of the process to Hospital and Clinic Administrators as well as ensuring all charge capture documents and systems are modified to reflect this updated information.
- Responsible for CPT and revenue code coordination, within the chargemaster and communication of changes to the Reimbursement department for potential cost report implications.
- Participates in monthly revenue integrity audits and revenue integrity reporting.
- Coordinates a program of routine training and education for Dartmouth Hitchcock departments focusing on chargemaster processes.
- Performs other duties as required or assigned.
