Overview
The Regional Risk Director is responsible for overseeing and implementing a comprehensive and coherent risk management program to meet the needs of the system members. This includes oversight into risk management procedures, policies, protocols and additional items to govern the provision of risk management services with a primary emphasis on pro-actively identifying risk trends, risk mitigation, and loss prevention. This role requires strong communication and data analysis skills for corporate leadership conversation and driving results. The role focuses on reducing the occurrence and severity of losses, enhancing patient outcomes, improving patient safety, and the financial stability of the system by designing, embedding, and maintaining risk management best practices with system member risk managers and leaders.
Responsibilities
- Set goals and determine operational activities to accomplish business objectives in direct partnership with the System Vice President of Risk Management.
- Develops and implements system-wide risk management and loss prevention policies, procedures and practices.
- Collaborates with System VP of Risk in developing / maintaining a system Risk Management Plan.
- Personnel management.
- Is responsible for onboarding new hires, professional development, and mentoring Risk Managers.
- Communicate objectives, policies, procedures, and plans to Risk Managers to ensure an efficient and effective operation.
- Collaborates with VP of Risk and system leaders to develop the department's operational structure.
- Collects, analyzes, and reports system-wide risk data, via system dashboard, for the purpose of supporting a system-wide risk management program.
- Establishes risk assessment and educational programs on risk management topics.
- Reviews various policies and procedures with regard to risk management and loss prevention issues.
- Performs other duties as required or assigned.
