The Histologist IV works to provide high-quality pathology products to aid in diagnosis. In a fast-paced, high-volume laboratory, they perform routine tasks and a menu of more advanced tests, such as Immunohistochemistry (including prognostic markers), DIF, Enzyme Histochemistry, and Special Stains. Values quality patient care, a positive work environment, and teamwork.
This is a full-time, 40-hour per week, benefitted, evening shift position working Monday - Friday, 3 : 00pm - 11 : 30pm with voluntary on-call at weekends. DHMC offers a 10% shift differential for the evening shift.

Responsibilities
Qualifications
Route 1 : Successful completion of a NAACLS accredited Histotechnician program within the last five years prior to the date of application for examination. The education received from a NAACLS accredited HT program is acceptable for a period of five (5) years from the date of completion of that program. After five years, the applicant's eligibility will be based on clinical laboratory experience as stated in the current examination eligibility requirements.
Route 1 : Baccalaureate degree from a regionally accredited college / university with a combination of 30 semester hours (45 quarter hours) of biology and chemistry (must include credit hours in both), AND successful completion of a NAACLS accredited Histotechnician or Histotechnology program within the last five years. The education received from a NAACLS accredited HT / HTL program is acceptable for a period of five (5) years from the date of completion of that program. After five years, the applicant's eligibility will be based on laboratory experience as stated in the current examination eligibility requirements.
