Summary/Objective
The HR Operations Specialist is responsible for payroll, benefits, and human resources administration.
Essential Functions

- Ensure accurate and efficient processing of payroll.
- Maintain employee records and ensure compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.
- Prepare quarterly, yearly, monthly, and weekly reports for accounting and finance team.
- Respond to questions from employees, supervisors and managers regarding policies, benefits, salaries, and time and leave.
- Process wage garnishments.
- Make adjustments in pay for raises, bonuses, severances and other off cycle payments.
- Manager Benefits, including timely enrollment/termination and auditing/approving monthly invoices.
- Lead yearly 401(k) audit.
- Plan and administer annual open enrolment period. This includes preparation or revision and distribution of materials, conducting meetings to communicate changes to employees, arranging for on-site presentation by providers and processing changes withing deadlines.
- Resolve discrepancies with carriers and payroll.
- Coordinate with third party administrator to manager disability claims according to plan.
- Administer COBRA enrollments/changes and respond/manage unemployment claims.
- Develop and conduct payroll and benefits audits to identify gaps and implement corrective action.
- Conduct the pre-onboarding of new hires, including sending background check and drug test, request credentials and equipment, send Paylocity link and add new hire to payroll system, complete E-Verify & I9 Form, and update org charts.
- Scan and file new hires’ onboarding paperwork. Maintain personnel files for all employees.
- Prepare off-boarding paperwork including draft termination letter and separation notice and terminate from systems following off boarding checklist.
- Responsible for assisting with Human Resources projects assigned.
- Uphold the highest confidentiality standards.

This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, and fax machines.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position with regular office hours of 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, Monday through Friday. Hours may vary on occasion depending on workload.

Required Qualifications
- 3 years’ hands-on experience in payroll and benefits administration.
- Proficient in all Microsoft Office applications.
- Attention to detail, analytical thought process skills and ability to multi-task.
- Knowledge of payroll, garnishments, and benefits distribution.
Preferred Qualifications
- Proficient in Paylocity
- Proficient in SuccessFactors
