What are the responsibilities and job description for the Ecommerce Sales Account Manager position at D & K Sales, Inc.?
Growing, fast-paced family business seeking a strong, professional, experienced candidate to handle a segment of our Ecommerce sales. Responsibilities include:
Relationship Management
- Serve as main point of contact and implement appropriate sales tactics/communication based on best practices for any given retailer's ecosystem.
- Understand requirements, assess strengths/weaknesses/opportunities and maintain knowledge of current processes (for loading product, participating in salese/promotion, updating content, etc) to draw the best sales performance from the channel.
- Maintain consistent and open communication with buyers (buyers, assistants, content team, etc.) and clients, eliciting information and ideas to better position the brand and/or products onsite. Evaluate and apply best practices gleaned.
- Provide strategic guidance and direction, gleaned from other accounts we manage, experience and best practices. Provide holistic advice to grow/scale businesses in a health/future focused manner.
- Manage/run/negotiate allowance/terms discussions.
- Operational performance (shipping, fulfillment, EDI, carriers, etc.) must be managed, especially when there are shipping related issues (physically or electronically). Strategically manage the relationship to protect the business. Appropriately communicate status/changes/issues, etc.
Product & Catalog Management
- Coordinate the load of all product internally with data team based on retailer requirements and processes, timing submissions with retailer timelines/lag time.
- Manage and maintain that all applicable product is submitted to the retailer, loaded in their system, and live on site. Acute attention to detail is necessary.
Marketing, Promotions & Advertising
- Promotions - Identify with buying teams all available events/promotions/sales and execute within client parameters and growth goals.
- Advertising - If there is an advertising arm for a given retailer, understand impact and coordinate with advertising internally to run/leverage/execute campaigns based on product related details. Be hands on in advertising focus and understanding with internal team to assist daily campaign management.
Monthly Items
- Buyer Touch-base - If not organically happening, reach out to buying teams to connect on the business. Aim to understand items in the retailer sales analysis listed below (but not limited to).
- Sales Analysis - to understand the health of the business, we must know what is happening both internally and externally, giving us context into how our performance truly is in the environment. How well do the below two analyses match? Does one change the other or are they in harmony?
Inside Sales Analysis - Analyze sell-in report for the retailer, per commodity/division to understand the business more intimately.
Retailer Sales Analysis - Engage with the retailer to provide insights as to what they are seeing at the category level.
- Advertising - Recap performance (if applicable) for analysis.
- Projects/Items Needed - Status update of needed items, projects we are working on, new batches being loaded, etc. Is there anything we need to check in on? Is there anything we are holding up?
Requirements/Experience
- Proven experience in managing Ecommerce platforms and driving online sales
- Excellent Microsoft Office skillset, especially Excel. To include knowledge of vlookup, pivot tables, formatting, etc.
- Experience working inside .com retailer portals, including but not limited to Amazon Vendor Central, Wayfair, Overstock, Zulily, Target.com, Walmart.com, Kohls.com, Home Depot, Lowes, 1P &/or 3P, etc.
- Experience creating content/copy utilizing SEO/keywords for new product listings and updating existing products.
- Experience loading new product with above noted .com retailers.
- Be highly task oriented, self-motivated, organized, driven, able to multi-task and pay close attention to details.
- Strong e-mail and phone skills with vendors and customers with the ability/comfort level to ask for the sale (anything to gain exposure/traffic/better shelf space on the site).
- Competitive with desire to grow and develop a large book of ongoing .com business.
- Able to operate independently, self-manage workload, and adjust schedule to accomplish tasks.
- Comfortable working in a small team environment and taking on independent projects as well
- Willingness to be coached and share ideas within.
