Supervisors are the support for the Management team and the leaders of their peers! They help manage all operations of the restaurant including purchasing, safety, sanitation, cleanliness, repairs & maintenance, hiring, scheduling, training, guest recovery, and upholding our high quality food, beverage & service standards. Supervisors can take on additional responsibilities and have opportunities for advancement to management if they desire. Pay determined by experience and responsibility. Principal Activities & Responsibilities as a supervisor
Cost Controls
- Meeting Food, Beverage, Labor & Controllables Cost Goals oDaily analysis of labor
- Weekly analysis of food costs
- Effective cash management – ensuring correct invoice pricing
Customer Service
- Able to handle guest complaints successfully and with empathy oManages employees to remain 100% guest 1st hospitality focus
- Routinely interacts with guests, recognizing & creating more regular guests oMaintains quality staff that provides excellent customer service and promotes team building
- Minimal negative guest comments
Employee Development
- Active in hiring process, ensuring that all administrative paperwork successfully completed oTimely completion of all Status change & Termination reports
- Adheres to and manages all employee policies including uniforms oEnsure that training programs are being followed
- Coaches poor behavior privately, but praises good behavior publicly oHelps develop other strong lead employees
- Provides regular channels for team communication
Marketing
- Proactively manages & communicates all promotions oHelps meet sales goals
- Finds and executes effective marketing strategies
Food & Beverage Quality
- Ensures highest quality, consistency & presentation oAll food & beverage stored properly, proper hierarchy, covered & off floor
- Products labeled with date, product name, made by whom and rotated oSuccessful ordering that prevents waste, yet prevents outages
- Manages waste log oUtilizes product mix reports to manage pars
- Accurate and up to date prep & food guides
Safety & Sanitation
- ENSURES SAFE FOOD HANDLING PRACTICES AT ALL TIMES oENSURES SAFE WORK PRACTICES TO PREVENT INJURIES
- Properly fills out incident forms and sends to proper people oManages sidework & deep clean lists to keep building clean
- Equipment is kept clean and in excellent working condition oResponsible for Health Department Inspection scores
- Responsible for internal inspection scores
Level of Authority
- Authority to responsibly manage employees, and assist management team
- Responsible for the entire restaurant during shift, communicating all issues with the Management team
Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years restaurant experience
- Able to perform basic functions in most positions of the restaurant
- Must be able to communicate professionally and clearly with team, other managers, General Manager, Regional Manager and guests
Physical & Mental Demands
- Must be able to lift at least 50 pounds
- Must be able to frequently stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, talk and hear
- Must be able to stand for extended periods of times
Working Conditions & Environment
- Must be able to handle high volume
- Must be able to maintain a high level of sanitation/cleanliness
- Is required to work all shifts, weekends, holidays and special events as needed
- Must be able to remain calm under stressful conditions
Mandatory Requirements
- Must obtain MAST
- Must obtain food workers permit
- Must have employment eligibility in the U.S.
- Must be able to adhere to Blazing Onion standards, recipes and policies
