What are the responsibilities and job description for the Assistant Controller - Four Stars Auto Group position at D&M Auto Leasing?
The Assistant Controller supports the Controller in the supervision of the daily activity of the accounting staff and assists in management of the financial and accounting system for the dealerships. This individual must have previous work history indicating the necessary skill set to handle the day to day accounting responsibilities, including financial statements, bank accounts, vehicle payments, inventory, accounts receivable, accounts payable, billing, payroll, and more.
JOB SUMMARY:
· Support the controller in leading, managing, and motivating a team of dealership accounting personnel
· Partner with sales and service department leaders regarding dealership matters
· Support and provide reports that accurately reflect the financial condition of the dealerships to the controller, dealer principal, and CFO on a regular basis
· Interpret financial statements and daily operating reports and inform management of developing trends
· Summarize sales and expense analyses to detect potential opportunities for improved company profitability
· Assist in maintenance and audits of accounting information for compliance with all applicable laws and regulations
· Assist with reconciliation of bank and credit card statements
· Support audit of general ledger accounts and related schedules with outside sources to ensure that all accounts are accurately reflected
· Research and resolve any discrepancies in billing procedures
· Process warranty, incentive, and rebate items
· Reconcile and post manufacturer statements
· Assist with other duties and assignments, as directed
LOCATION: Four Stars Auto Ranch – 262 US Hwy 287 S – Henrietta, Texas
SCHEDULE: Full-time; Monday through Friday, 8am-5pm, or as duties require
\n- 3 years as automotive dealership assistant controller preferred
- CDK software experience preferred
- Proven track record of success required
- Full knowledge and understanding of financial statements and all aspects of an automotive accounting department
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Accounting, or similar area preferred, but not required for the highly experienced candidate
- Proficient computer skills and knowledge of relevant software applications including, but not limited to, Microsoft Office Suite
