Warehouse Loader - 1st Shift
The Warehouse Loaders is responsible for the loading and transportation of doors and materials within the warehouse. This role requires attention to detail, physical stamina, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Shift: Monday through Friday, 6:00 a.m. - 2:30 p.m.
- Salary Range: $18.00 - $24.64 per hour
- FLSA Status: Nonexempt
- Position Type: Full-Time
Responsibilities:
- Safely load doors and materials into delivery trucks, ensuring products are handled with care to prevent damage.
- Use appropriate equipment (e.g., forklifts, hand trucks) to move doors within the warehouse.
- Read and verify outgoing shipments using production sheets and work tickets.
- Accurately record material information in the inventory management system.
- Inspect doors for any damages or defects before shipment.
- Install protective devices, such as bracing, padding, or strapping, to prevent shifting or damage to items being transported.
- Report any discrepancies or quality issues to the Warehouse Foreman.
- Keep the warehouse clean, organized, and free of safety hazards.
- Maintain material moving equipment in good working condition.
- Work closely with other warehouse staff to ensure efficient workflow.
- Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members regarding task priorities and any issues that arise.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- At least 2 years' experience in a warehouse or loading role, preferably involving doors or similar products.
- Attention to detail for inspecting materials and finished doors.
- Effective communication skills for collaborating with team members and supervisors.
- Strong teamwork and collaboration skills.
- Ability to read and interpret work orders.
- Ability to manage time efficiently to meet deadlines.
- Adaptability to handle different tasks and responsibilities as needed.
Physical Requirements:
- Extended periods of standing and walking throughout the shift.
- Frequently lifting and carrying materials weighing up to 50 lbs., and occasionally team lift up to 100 lbs.
- Using hands and arms to operate machinery, handle tools, and perform tasks.
- Exert force to push or pull pallet jacks weighing up to 100 lbs.
- Performing close vision, peripheral vision, and color vision tasks to inspect materials and components for quality.
