Warehouse Worker - 2nd shift
The Warehouse Worker is responsible for handling incoming and outgoing materials. Responsibilities include unloading freight, verifying orders, inspecting materials, and maintaining accurate inventory records. Additionally, handle doors, windows, patio doors, and millwork, pick materials for orders, and load products onto vehicles. Safety and effective communication are essential in this role.
- Shift: 2nd shift, Monday - Thursday, 2:00 p.m. - 12:00 a.m.
- Salary Range: $18.00 - $24.64 hourly $2.00 shift differential for hours worked
- FLSA Status: Nonexempt
- Position Type: Full-Time
Responsibilities:
- Receive incoming freight and unload freight from trucks and trailers using a forklift and verify their accuracy against purchase orders or shipping documents.
- Verify materials received against packing slips for order accuracy and inspect goods for damage or discrepancies and report any issues to supervisors.
- Safely store doors, windows, patio doors, and millwork to and from designated warehouse bins.
- Maintain accurate inventory records through computerized systems.
- Pick and pull materials for orders for shipment by selecting and packing items according to order specifications.
- Ensure that items are properly labeled, and packaging is secure to prevent damage during transit.
- Load products onto trucks, trailers, or customer vehicles.
- Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment safely and efficiently.
- Adhere to safety guidelines and protocols to maintain a safe working environment.
- Keep the warehouse clean and organized.
- Communicate effectively with team members, supervisors, and other departments to ensure smooth operations.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- At least 2 years' experience in a similar role within a warehouse or distribution center.
- 1-2 years' experience operating a forklift and other material handling equipment.
- Experience with a handheld scanning device.
- Strong problem-solving skills to address and resolve issues that arise during assembly.
- Attention to detail for inspecting materials and finished doors.
- Effective communication skills for collaborating with team members and supervisors.
- Strong teamwork and collaboration skills.
- Ability to read and interpret work orders.
- Ability to manage time efficiently to meet deadlines.
- Adaptability to handle different tasks and responsibilities as needed.
Physical Requirements:
- Extended periods of standing and walking throughout the shift.
- Frequently lifting and carrying materials weighing up to 50 lbs., and occasionally team lift up to 100 lbs.
- Using hands and arms to operate machinery, handle tools, and perform tasks.
- Exert force to push or pull pallet jacks weighing up to 100 lbs.
- Performing close vision, peripheral vision, and color vision tasks to inspect materials and components for quality.
