Join the D&N Properties team, now hiring an Apartment Maintenance Technician! This role requires a combination of technical maintenance skills and customer service. You will be responsible for ensuring that the properties are well-maintained and in excellent condition. From diagnosing problems and making repairs to maintaining and organizing work orders, strong communication skills, and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Responsibilities & Duties
- Conduct routine inspections of the property to identify maintenance needs
- Perform plumbing repairs such as fixing leaks and unclogging drains
- Carry out electrical repairs, including replacing light fixtures and troubleshooting wiring issues
- Maintain HVAC systems and conduct necessary repairs or replacements
- Repair and paint walls, ceilings, and doors
- Install and repair appliances
- Perform carpentry tasks including repairing floors, doors, and cabinets
- Keep accurate records of maintenance activities and repairs
- Respond promptly to emergency maintenance requests
- Collaborate with property management and other team members to plan maintenance work
- Collaborate with contractors for specialized repair work
- Maintain landscaping and grounds as needed
- Provide excellent customer service to tenants
- Participate in evening and weekend on-call rotation for after-hours emergencies
Qualifications & Skills
- Previous experience in maintenance or a related field
- Strong problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Physical stamina and the ability to lift heavy objects
- A valid driver's license
- Reliable transportation
- Basic knowledge of plumbing, electrical, and HVAC systems
- Possess hand and power tools
- Good organizational and time management skills
- Customer service experience
- Willingness to be on-call for emergencies
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour
Expected hours: 30 – 40 per week
Schedule:
- Monday to Friday
- Rotating weekends
