Position Summary: The Field Supervisor is responsible for performing multiple roles in various field assignments for fast-track capital equipment projects in the field of environmental air pollution control for customers in very diverse industries across North America and Asia. The supervisor will often be the only Dürr employee on site and is the face of the Company to the customer. The role will include the supervision of subcontracted installation labor force performing the installation of new systems and the repair work, or upgrades, of old systems. Labor force being supervised can be union or non-union. Role can also include the supervision of heavy equipment operations, such as cranes, forklifts, boom trucks, etc. The role will often require the hands-on repair or installation of parts, equipment, piping, insulation & refractory, ironwork and sheet metal. The supervisor must be able to evaluate site conditions, develop action plans, communicate the action plan to both on site & office personnel and implement the plan. The supervisor will often perform inspections and condition evaluations of various types of air pollution control equipment and generate recommended repairs or maintenance. Field assignments vary in duration from one day to two months. Daily activity and safety reports are to be completed for each assignment. Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
- Work independently in the field throughout North America and Asia
- Recognize installation fit-up problems, develop corrective action plans and implement them
- Supervise with confidence subcontracted labor forces to ensure field assignments are executed on time and on budget
- Act as the point of contact for the customer during site work. Must be able to handle customers with confidence and respect
- Perform on-site daily 'tool box' safety talks and log daily 'ZIP' documents
- Generate daily work activities, including resource assignments, critical lift and safety rigging plans
- Track field progress versus the schedule, recognize deviations and generate corrective action plans
- Complete accident and near-miss 'ZIP' safety reports
- Complete daily service or progress reports
- Read and understand system & facility drawings/blueprints and ensure assembly of equipment or repairs are performed correctly
- Support office personnel in the troubleshooting and resolution of engineering, fabrication, installation, start-up, and performance issues
- Ensure customer satisfaction
- Perform on site quality evaluation of subcontractor work and generate punch lists and ensure completion by applicable parties
- Generate defective material reports for all shipments
- Coordinate the return of defective, or surplus, materials from site
Nonessential Functions:
- Basic knowledge of electrical installation work
- Basic understanding of sequences of operations and cause and effect relationships
- Crane and forklift operator certified
Qualifications:
- Five years fabrication experience
- Five years field service and Electrical wiring experience
- High school diploma
- Air pollution control equipment experience preferred
- Have clear understanding of heavy equipment installation and rigging procedures
- Have clear written and oral communication skills
- Able to lead a site team consisting of multiple trades to the successful completion of equipment installation and repair assignments
- Maintain fabrication skills and have work experience in the fields of sheet metal, ironwork, piping, millwright, insulation & refractory, and painting
- Have understanding of pneumatic, electric and hydraulic power systems
- Have complete understanding of the Company safety program and apply that program to the management of the field operations department
- Able to generate detailed written summaries of daily activities
- Have high diplomacy skills when handling customers
- Be self-motivated and team oriented
- Highly detailed oriented and thorough
- Able to travel and hold a current passport
- Be physically capable of working long hours and able to climb ladders & stairs
- Maintain familiarity with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook)

Supervisory Responsibilities:
- While this position does not have any direct reports, they will be responsible for supervising subcontractors while onsite.
Physical Demands: While performing duties of job, incumbent is occasionally required to stand, walk, sit, and use hands and arms. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close and distance vision. Additionally, the incumbent will be required to:
- Occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds

Expected Hours of Work:
This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work vary based on need. May be required to work holidays or weekends. Overtime may be required.
Travel:
This position requires frequent travel, more than 80%. Travel can be both overnight and during the business day and can be both local and international.
