Role Overview:
Are you an experienced Steel Structural Engineer with a proven track record in designing and managing steel structures for complex industrial environments, particularly in automotive manufacturing plants. This will give you the opportunity to expand on your industrial steel background while working on projects related to platforms, tanks, high-bay storages, and supporting structures for conveyor assembly systems structural supports for automated systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design & Analysis: Perform structural design and analysis of steel structures, including platforms, tanks, high-bay storages, and support systems for conveyor and assembly equipment
- Project Management: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and meet quality standards
- Technical Documentation: Prepare detailed structural drawings, calculations, and specifications using relevant software (e.g., AutoCAD, Tekla, STAAD.Pro, or similar)
- Site Coordination: Work closely with project managers, construction teams, and subcontractors to ensure accurate implementation of structural designs
- Compliance: Ensure all designs comply with local building codes, safety standards, and industry regulations
- Problem Solving: Provide engineering solutions for technical challenges encountered during the design, fabrication, or installation phases
- Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities to enhance efficiency, safety, and cost-effectiveness in the design and construction processes
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in designing steel structures for industrial facilities, preferably in the automotive sector.
- Expertise in structural design for platforms, tanks, high-bay storages, and conveyor support systems
- Proficiency in structural analysis and design software (e.g., STAAD.Pro, SAP2000, Tekla, or similar)
- Strong understanding of materials, construction methods, and fabrication processes for steel structure
- Knowledge of relevant codes and standards (e.g., IBC 2012 or later, ASCE 7-10 or later, AISC steel construction manual, and AISC 360-10 seismic design guide)
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and project management skills
- Effective communication and collaboration skills to work with multidisciplinary teams
- Willingness to travel to project sites as required
