Essential Functions And Responsibilities
- Lead electrical engineering group
- Manage workload of electrical team
- Conduct performance reviews of staff
- Act as liaison with Executive Management, Clients, and other departments
- Work with Dürr headquarters on design standards
- Implement US based design standards
- Manage manpower loading for electrical group on multiple projects
- Work with subcontract engineering
- Maintain overall department schedules
- Review budget estimates and project budgets
- Establish project standards and deliverables
- Support selection and control of suppliers and Purchased Equipment vendors
- Perform other related duties as assigned
- Bachelor of Science in Electrical or Computer Engineering
- Ability to lead a large team of engineers / designers
- Ability to understand and maintain project schedules
- Ability to interpret electrical codes & customer specifications
- Good time management skills with the ability to determine priorities
- Good organizational skills
- Good verbal communication skills
- Good technical writing skills
- Able to effectively communicate with mechanical engineering and estimating departments, contractors, suppliers, and customers
- Able to technically define problems and propose solutions
- Willing and able to work overtime, weekends, and holidays when necessary
- Proficient with Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, Visio and PowerPoint
- Knowledge of SAP is a plus
- Experience with electrical design for industrial controls
- Ability to interpret process PI&D and flow diagrams for control system functionality
- Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate an engineering team
- Ability to maintain confidentiality at all times
- Maintain project schedules
- Development of subcontract bid package documentation
- Manage budgets for purchased equipment and engineering labor costs
- Supervision of subcontract engineering and design engineers (CAD)
- Attend and/or conduct design reviews
- Attend customer meetings to understand project requirements
- Communicate with project team, customers, and suppliers
- Understand, diagnose, and solve real or potential design problems
- Travel approximately 20%
