Job Description
- Navigates inland rivers or canals using steering controllers, throttles, radar compass, short-wave radio, depth finder, loud hailer, and other equipment to transport tows to destinations.
- Uses radio communication and vision to navigate waterways, docks, locks, and other vessel traffic.
- Trains and supervises crew members in safe and efficient performance of duties.
- Evaluates performance of all crew members.
- Serves as company representative in dealings with customers and governmental agencies.
